Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms apply when you use the People's Choice Technology & Innovation Hub (PCTIH) website and Student Portal, register, enrol in a course or make a payment. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy. By creating an account or paying, you confirm that you accept them.
1. Who can register
You must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf. You must give accurate details and keep them up to date.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your password private. Do not share your account.
- New student accounts are reviewed. A registration is approved by PCTIH staff only after the registration fee has been paid and verified. We may decline or suspend a registration, for example where details are false or these terms are broken.
- Tell us immediately if you think someone else has accessed your account.
3. Fees and payments
- Prices are shown in Sierra Leonean leones (NLe). The one-time registration fee is NLe 550 and covers a T-shirt, ID card and wrist band. Each course has its own fee, shown on the course page before you pay.
- Payments are made on the secure checkout page of our payment provider, Monime. We never see or store your card number, mobile money PIN or Monime password.
- A payment counts only once we have verified it with the payment provider. Until then it shows as pending. If a payment is taken but not shown, contact us with your payment reference.
- You are responsible for any fees charged by your bank or mobile money operator.
- We may change prices for future enrolments. A price you have already paid will not change.
4. Courses, access and certificates
- After enrolling you can access the learning materials for that course through your Student Portal account. Access is personal and is for your own learning.
- A Certificate of Completion is issued by PCTIH only when you have met the completion requirements shown on the course page. It is a PCTIH certificate. It is not an official qualification, licence or exam voucher from any third-party company, and it does not guarantee employment.
- We describe courses in good faith but schedules, instructors, content and delivery methods may change. We will tell you of significant changes.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, resell, record or share course materials, quizzes or answers outside the Student Portal without permission;
- submit work that is not your own or that infringes someone else’s rights;
- try to bypass security, access other people’s data, disrupt the service or use automated tools against it;
- post unlawful, abusive, hateful or misleading content, or impersonate anyone.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
6. Content you provide
You keep ownership of what you submit (for example assignments, testimonials and posts). You give PCTIH a non-exclusive licence to store and display it as needed to run the service, and, for testimonials and public posts, to show it on this website. You confirm you have the right to submit it. You can ask us to remove a testimonial or post.
7. Our content
The website, course materials, logos and other content are owned by PCTIH or used with permission and are protected by copyright and other laws. Third-party names and logos belong to their owners and are shown only to identify them. Their use does not imply endorsement or partnership.
8. Availability and changes
We aim to keep the service available but do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may update or withdraw features. Third-party services we rely on (hosting, payments, video) may also be unavailable at times.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, for loss of income or opportunities, or for problems caused by events outside our reasonable control such as power or network failures. Our total liability to you for a claim relating to a paid course is limited to the amount you paid for that course.
10. Ending your account
You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account (see our Privacy Policy). We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Sections that by nature continue (such as content, liability and governing law) will continue to apply.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Sierra Leone. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve any problem informally. If that fails, the courts of Sierra Leone have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The "last updated" date above will change, and we will tell registered students of significant changes. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
